Central Chapter Volunteer Opportunity
Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
** PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE IN VENUE **
In celebration of International Credit Union Day, join members of the Young Professionals Commission, working in partnership with the Central New York Chapter, at the Salvation Army in Syracuse. Volunteers will be getting down and dirty at Booth House, 3624 Midland Avenue in Syracuse. Booth House is a shelter and counseling service for runaway and homeless youth, ages 13-17 - it was the first runaway shelter in New York to operate under the New York Sate Runaway and Homeless Youth Act and certified by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).
Volunteers will be doing anything from cleaning to painting, as well as other general upkeep tasks. Be prepared for the weather and dressed to work (closed toe shoes please).
Please be sure to arrive at Booth House by 1pm. Friends and family are welcome to volunteer as well, but it is required that all volunteers are over 14 years of age.
Come join us to celebrate credit unions and the International Year of the Cooperative, as well as to help our community!
